About Dr Wallace
Philip Wallace, MD, performs minimally invasive procedures at Deschutes Surgery Center, LLC, an ambulatory surgery center located at his practice, Central Oregon Spine & Sports in Bend, Oregon. He specializes in interventional pain medicine, as well as regenerative medicine, so he can help patients obtain relief from ongoing pain and return to an active lifestyle.
Dr. Wallace started his career as a musician in Nashville, Tennessee, where he thrived as a successful touring and recording artist until he decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and enter the field of medicine. His father was an orthopedic surgeon in Beaumont, Texas, who had a profound impact on patients over decades of work. Dr. Wallace was so inspired to have a similar legacy of helping people that he switched careers and entered medical school.
After graduating from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Dr. Wallace went on to finish his residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. With a desire to specialize in helping patients recover from injuries and chronic pain, he completed a fellowship in interventional spine and sports medicine at Southwest Spine & Sports in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dr. Wallace is certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
When he’s not in the office, Dr. Wallace remains active in numerous outdoor activities, from successfully climbing Mt. Hood to fly fishing and biking. He spends as much free time as possible with his wife Carrie and their two children, Scotty and Audrey.
